This hands-on summer workshop introduces students to the world of multi-camera studio production, video podcasting, and short-form content creation.

Students will learn how to create engaging content across formats, from talk shows and interviews to social media videos and digital storytelling. The course is designed for anyone interested in filmmaking, journalism, or content creation, with an emphasis on real-world production experiences.

Throughout the program, students will work collaboratively while gaining experience with professional camera systems, lighting, and audio equipment. They will rotate through key production roles such as camera operator, director, technical director, audio technician, and producer.

By the end of the course, students will understand the full production workflow, from planning and pre-production through live and live-to-tape studio recording. Students will also explore how to create content for modern platforms, including video podcasts and short-form social media.

The course includes lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops, giving students the opportunity to build practical skills while working as part of a production team.

Fees: There is no cost for accepted students. This program is made possible by a grant from the NJ Civic Information Consortium and an in-kind donation by Ocean County College.
